Tuesday June 10th, 2008: 4 miles
AM: 0 miles
PM: 4 miles with james out and back through hidden creek, across horsham rd, and down saw mill. turned around by the vfw. felt pretty beat coming back but ok going out. really need some new shoes soon.

Wednesday May 21st, 2008: 3 miles
AM: 0 miles
PM: 3 miles v + e trail ran out on the trail. felt a little sluggish in the beginning. got crapped on by a bird at my turnaround. felt really tired in last 5 minutes of run - think the culmination of the school year is physically draining me. massive headache in the evening.

Monday May 19th, 2008: 3 miles
AM: 0 miles
PM: 3 miles v + e trail ran after school - it was a hot day, but the run wasn't that bad. got out 12 minutes and then got a huge/painful stitch in a muscle on my left side up by my heart. stopped and walked it out for a minute or two, then turned around. felt pretty good - no leg pain. am out of shape aerobically already (not that i really had much beforehand)

Saturday May 17th, 2008: 4.5 miles
AM: 2 miles (15 min) (7:30/pace) v + e trail ran on the trail around 12:15. gorgeous memphis day - windy, no clouds, warm. so far this spring it has been a rarity to not have a super nice day like today.
PM: 2.5 miles swimming went over to the rhodes pool with karl about 30 minutes after my run. i was nervous hopping in the pool again, but was determined to swim more than i did last week. started off with an easy 100 (which was twice as much as i could do in any rep last time i went swimming), then took a break, did another 100, break, 50, break, 100. did 2x100 with 30s in between, and then a 50. i was at 600 and took a bigger break. at this point i realized swimming 100 in one shot wasn't really that hard. i was good at three stroking and alternating what side i was breathing on. quickly remembered to breath out when i was under water, and realized turning directly to the side allowed me to get in more air. i decided to do 4x100 with 30s after 1, 45s after 2, and 1:00 after the third. didn't get the split from 600-700, but my next 3 were 2:25, 2:17, and 2:21. decided to take 1 minute rest when i got to 1000m total, then swam a 2:18 100m, then 15s, then 2:18 to close out the 1200m of swimming. felt really proud of myself the way i swam the last 600. got in a nice rhythm and basically figured out how to go a pace i could maintain and feel good about. finished right when karl finished - he did 2200. total was about 25 - 28 minutes of swimming and i was in the pool for about 45-50 minutes.

Thursday May 15th, 2008: 2.5 miles
AM: 0 miles (15 min) (7:30/pace)
PM: 2.5 miles v + e trail ran before the TFA alumni induction at night. was raining a bit before i went - met gilson out on the trail and turned around at maybe 12 minutes or so. was really sweaty and just dead tired immediately after the run - don't really know what it was.

Tuesday May 13th, 2008: 2 miles
AM: 0 miles (15 min) (7:30/pace) building up i need to be careful working back into running. i think it was the 7 miler i did on 4/24 that sent me over the edge a little bit. going to try to work the everyother day approach for a little.
PM: 2 miles v + e trail ran on the trail from my house. felt pretty good throughout. wore black headband.
